Dear Doctor, I have noticed cracking at the corners of my mouth, which lately won't seem to go away. What is it and what should I do? Dear Joan, Cracking of the corners of the mouth is a common condition that is frequently seen in both the offices of dermatologists and dentists. It is known as perleche or angular cheilitis ( angular angles; cheil lip; itis inflammation). Perleche is derived from the French word, lecher, meaning to lick, and is characterized by excessive licking of the affected areas either as a result of irritation or because of it. This condition is further characterized by redness and cracking of the skin at the corners of the lips. There can be a variety of causes with the majority of them being local, meaning they arise from inside or around the mouth. Although

The do form chemical compounds, even though they have filled electron valence shells. Here is a look at how they form compounds and some examples. Helium, neon, argon, krypton, xenon, radon have completed valence electron shells, so they are highly stable. However, the filled inner electron shells tend to provide a sort of electrical shielding, making it possible to ionize the outer electrons. Under ordinary conditions, noble gases are inert and don t form compounds, but when ionized or under pressure, they will sometimes working into the matrix of another molecule or combine with highly reactive ions. Reaction with halogens is most favorable, where the noble gas loses an electron and acts as a positively charged ion to form a compound. Many types of noble gas compounds are theoretically
Wreaths have been used as a decorative sign of Christmas for hundreds and hundreds of years. Christmas wreaths can adorn any part of your home, inside or out. In many homes, this symbol of growth and everlasting life can be found both inside and out. It is common to find a number of wreaths on doors, over the mantle, or hung in windows. The wreath is made of evergreens, most often pine branches or holly. They can be real or artificial. But, an artificial one just doesn't smell the same as a real wreath. ...
I have had this issue with every laptop I have owned and spent many hours trying to find a solution to this problem. I have changed brands every time I bought a new laptop because of this, but the problem always occurs and slowly gets worse over time. I eventually found a solution on my previous machine. I changed from Acer to Sony Vaio and I now own an Asus which had its second sudden power off shutdown lastnight, first one a few weeks after purchase in september. I am a gamer and all my laptops are bought specifically for gaming with as good as spec as I can afford. My Asus is still under guarantee but I wont let run of the mill tech monkeys anywhere near it, thats just me. (I cant use a desktop pc at home as I run mainly on solar battery power from a good sinewave inverter and modern
This is a question I was asked by one of my clients recently so I thought I do a little research and see if I could find out the answer. Dogs seem to lick the air for several different reasons. Sometimes dog owners think itвs their way of getting a kiss but actually it can be a lot more serious than that. One of the reasons your dog might be licking the air is that he has something wrong with his mouth. He could have something caught between his teeth something wrong with his gums and even something stuck to the roof of his mouth like a stick for example. If your dog will allow it take a look in his mouth and see if you can find anything that could be causing him to lick. Another reason for licking the air could be nausea. Has your dog eaten anything that could have upset his stomach?
What s the difference between efficiency and effectiveness when it comes to electric heaters? We get a lot of calls from folks who want to know how efficient our heaters are at heating a home. The answerPwe often give isPsimple: electric heat is 100 percent efficient. All the energy that goes into the heater is converted into heat energy. Problem solved. Question answered. Unless that isn t exactly what the caller meant to ask. Talking about efficiency in those terms is how an engineer might looks at the question, but I suspect most customers are asking somethingPfundamentally different: How much will this heater cost to operate in comparison to other options out there? In other words: How cost-effective is this heater? That question isn t easy to answer with specific numbers. PThere are
Open the bathroom window or use the extractor fan when showering. Keep the bathroom door closed at all times, to prevent water vapour from showers circulating around the flat. Use a cooker hood (venting directly to the outside) when cooking every litre of gas burned produces five litres of water vapour. Finally, every home would benefit from use of a dehumidifier. Use it on the low, economy setting all the time, but turn it up when a higher moisture load is introduced into the house such as showering, cooking, or bringing damp washing into living areas. Most of the time, it s an oversight. Occasionally, it s on purpose, but to be honest, I haven t run across an on purpose in years. It s common practice now that www is optional; mostly because it s redundant and URLs are long enough without adding redundant information. But once upon a time, there was a reason. The original intent was that the www specified what you were trying to do, so you could be sent to the right computer to do that. Servers that were available for World Wide Web access used a www prefix. ...
A coat of arms has been granted to Kate Middleton's family ahead of the royal wedding. How do you acquire such a design? Her parents may have been an ex-flight dispatcher and a former air stewardess descended from a miner, but an absence of noble blood has not prevented the family of Kate Middleton having a coat of arms drawn up for them. Generic family heraldic designs may be widely sold in gift shops and hung in the living rooms of the socially aspirational. But for any British person to have a legal right to a coat of arms it must have been granted to them or they must be descended in the male line from a person to whom arms were awarded. Organisations can also be granted a coat of arms. In England, where the Middleton's design was carried out, there are no fixed eligibility criteria
