IndiaБs special environmental court has criticised the government for its failure to curb river pollution, a lawyer petitioning the court has said, after scores of bodies surfaced in the Ganges river. Last week more than 80 bodies Б mostly decomposed skeletons and half-burned corpses Б surfaced in the river in the northern state of Uttar Pradesh after a drop in water levels. Their emergence has reignited concerns among environmentalists over the uncontrolled practice of body disposal in the Ganges by Hindus, who consider the river to be sacred. On Monday the National Green Tribunal (NGT), a court set up to look at environmental grievances, ordered both the water resources and environment ministries to explain who should be held responsible for the pollution in the Ganges. БThe court said
The humming you hear around all things electrical is 120hz, because an imperfect 60hz sine wave has strong harmonics at 120Hz which you will likely hear over 60Hz because of the frequencies our ears pick up best. The humming you hear from power supplies, transformers, power meters, high-voltage distribution boxes (which have coils and such inside), etc etc is because the magnetic field in transformer coils is a physical force acting upon ferrous metals (this is how speakers work). Even though you might see a coil consisting of varnished wire that is glued down or epoxied really tight, the magnetic force is still tugging on these wires ever so slightly to great vibration. It doesn't have to be the coil wire itself either, it could be any metal object around the coil. The force is there and
Despite the significance of the fats, sugar and salt in your body, experts warn that unregulated consumption is risky to your health. According to the Mayo Clinic, excess sugar in your diet provides calories with minimal nutritional value. It results in tooth decay, increased level of triglycerides and weight gain. Try to choose your sugars from complex carbohydrates and avoid refined carbohydrates. High intake of salts may lead to high blood pressure or serious buildup of fluids in vessels resulting into kidney failure or congestive heart failure. Avoid the saltshaker by removing it from your dining table; doing this will significantly reduce the amount of salt you consume daily. Eating saturated and trans fats increases your risk of contracting cardiovascular diseases. ...
Why would a fellow want a girl like her? A frail and fluffy beauty? A solid girl like me?! I could break her little arm! Oh oh why would a fellow want a girl like her? So obviously unusual? A usual girl like me?! Her face is exquisite I suppose, But no more exquisite than a rose is. But not any softer that a doe's is. She's only as graceful as a bird. So why is the fellow going crazy? Oh why would a fellow want a girl like her, A girl who's merely lovely? ...

For almost one out of every seven Americans, a private well is the primary source of drinking water. Private wells are not regulated by the EPA. Well water safety can be affected by many factors, including: The EPA recommends that you talk with local experts, have your well water tested regularly, and not let problems go untended. According to the Beverage Marketing Corporation, Americans drank 9. 7 billion gallons of bottled water in 2012, a 6. 2% increase over the previous year. One argument advanced for the use of bottled water is its safety, yet there isn't the same guarantee of safety with bottled water as there is for the water in your tap. The FDA regulates bottled water as a food. That means it requires identification of the source (spring, mineral), regulates allowable levels of
The best way to get tissue samples from the stomach is through a procedure called an. ItБs more commonly known as an endoscopy or EGD. This is generally done as an outpatient procedure. YouБll be instructed to stop eating and drinking for about 6 to 12 hours before the procedure. YouБll also be advised to stop taking blood-thinning medications. Make sure you get specific instructions from your doctor based on your medical condition. Dentures or partials must be removed. You also need to wear a mouth guard to protect your teeth and the endoscope. During the procedure, you lie on your left side. Your
Like you are 5: Have you ever tried to cut a person out of a picture with scissors? It is pretty hard isn t it? People are shaped all squiggly and you have to be really careful or your won t get them all, or you can get too much! Well when people do special effects in movies like Harry Potter, sometimes they have to cut Harry Potter out of pictures and put him on different pictures. That s how they can make him fly on dragons without having to go find and tame a real dragon. Now, one way to make cutting Harry Potter out of pictures easy is to take the pictures of him in front of a big green sheet. That way computers can look at the pictures and cut out everything that is green automatically, its really easy! The only problem is that the computers can t tell the difference between the
Orcas should not be captive. Orcas cannot live in the conditions presented in places like Seaworld. Orcas in the wild do not have much interaction with orcas outside of their group, meaning there is plenty of space for them. However, in Seaworld, orcas are forced together into small spaces, meaning there is increased risk of injury and "raking" (one orca running their teeth against the skin of another to cause injury). Also, orcas aren't treated well in captivity. They are forced to do tricks in order to get their food, are separated from their young, are inbred, and numerous other ethical concerns. Human entertainment should not take precedence over the comfortable lives of these animals. Us humans have freedom and rights. Why don't orcas? We are all animals, and because we have rights,
