why do we use social networking sites

why do we use social networking sites

The other day my Grandfather asked me if I would consider doing a blog post about using social media for social reasons. It got me thinking. Why DO people use social media?! While most of us understand that being on social media for our small business is a worthwhile marketing endeavor we don't always necessarily consider why our audience is on social media in the first place, which is ironic because that may be the most important thing to consider. Social media comes down to a simple basic human desire: the need to connect with other humans, to be part of a group. Social media came about at a time after the world had, in many ways, become one. Technology and the Internet have made it so we can connect with anyone, anywhere, anytime. We know more about each other than we ever did before.

why was pluto removed as a planet

In 2006, Pluto was voted out of the planetary club by members of the International Astronomical Union Nasa's New Horizons mission made a close pass of Pluto this week. For more than 70 years, Pluto was one of nine planets recognised in our Solar System. But in 2006, it was relegated to the status of dwarf planet by the International Astronomical Union (IAU). So why was Pluto demoted? Where did the controversy start? Pluto was discovered in 1930 by US astronomer Clyde Tombaugh, who was using the Lowell Observatory in Arizona. Textbooks were swiftly updated to list this ninth member in the club. But over subsequent decades, astronomers began to wonder whether Pluto might simply be the first of a population of small, icy bodies beyond the orbit of Neptune. This region would become known as

why does breast cancer get all the attention

why does breast cancer get all the attention

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) Pink ribbons are everywhere in October, which is Breast Cancer Awareness month. And although other diseases have their own weeks or months, there s little question that breast cancer gets the most publicity. So, why does breast cancer get so much attention? I think women have become very empowered, and they have decided to take charge of the disease, said Lois Joseph, the co-founder of the Breast Cancer Awareness Association in Minnesota. Joseph was diagnosed with breast cancer nine years ago and she survived. I think we ve created a sisterhood, unfortunately, of breast cancer survivors, said Joseph. But she also acknowledges the non-stop marketing barrage that happens every October. It s en vogue. So many people are aware of it to promote a product or promote an

why do we need protein after a workout

why do we need protein after a workout

High-quality protein provides all the essential amino acids your body is unable to synthesize. Food-based protein sources are preferable to supplements, as they also contribute necessary nutrients such as carbs, healthy fats, vitamins and minerals. Animal proteins, including meat, fish, poultry and milk products, are rich in high-quality proteins, and you can also get them from mixing plant-based protein foods, which may be lacking one or more amino acid; for example, peanut butter on a whole-wheat bagel or beans with rice. Milk products can be a good choice for post-workout nutrition because they contain a large proportion of branched-chain amino acids. These amino acids are particularly effective at stimulating new muscle synthesis and can help reduce fatigue and enhance muscle fiber

why do we trade with other countries

why do we trade with other countries

Exports are easier to explain than imports. At least since the beginning of the industrial era almost three centuries ago, countries exported goods and servicesPbecause: Individuals and firms have been able to produce more goods and services than can be consumed at home. why do we have 2 minutes silence for remembrance day

why do we have 2 minutes silence for remembrance day

At 11am on each Remembrance Sunday a two minute silence is observed at war memorials and other public spaces across the UK. The silence is meant as a tribute to those who lost their lives fighting for their country - but what is the significance of that date and time? On the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month in 1918 the guns of Europe fell silent. After four years of bitter fighting, The Great War was finally over. The Armistice was signed at 5am in a railway carriage in the Forest of Compiegne, France on November 11, 1918. Six hours later, at 11am, the war ended. The first Remembrance Day was conducted in 1919 throughout Britain and the Commonwealth. Originally called Armistice Day, it commemorated the end of hostilities the previous year. It came to symbolise the
