why does my baby fart so much

1. Hold the bottle well
If you donвt, chances are your baby will take in lots of air. His tummy will look bloated. He might also vomit or drool lots of milk after feeding. Hold the bottle in such a way as to minimize air pockets. It will also prevent colicky episodes. 2. Donвt give too much gas-forming foods Babies are not mini-adults. Their digestive system is still growing. They canвt eat just about any type food out there. Some foods must be avoided if you donвt want your child to be fussy, gassy and to fart a lot. в complex carbohydrates such as potatoes, wheat, corn and other starches. в beans, broccoli, asparagus, onions, lentils, cauliflower, cabbage, sprouts, radishes, celery, green peppers, artichokes and other cruciferous greens в oranges, peaches, pears, raisins, prunes, apricots, appleso Whole grains в nuts, oat bran, wheat, barley and flax seed в cowвs milk, soya milk and almond milk.

Lactose intolerance can also make your child gassy and colicky.

I advise against giving your child cowвs milk, soy milk, and almond milk until such time that he is fully weaned of formula or breastmilk. 3. Massage Rubbing your little oneвs stomach can help with expelling gas. Apply pressure on your babyвs tummy or put him lying on his belly. Massage your babyвs abdomen with an organic mustard oil or coconut oil to relax him and expel his excess gas. It also helps to move your babyвs legs bicycle-style to stimulate gas movement.

Help! My breast milk is making my baby fart like crazy lots of stinky toots and he's so uncomfortable. We tried all of the gas drops, gripe water, etc. I read that it may be the breast milk and so since I've been supplementing with formula I tried just giving him formula for two days (meanwhile I'm pumping and freezing). For the past two days he's had a lot less gas and is more comfortable. I want to keep giving him breast milk but not sure what to eliminate or add to my diet to make it easier for him to digest.

I'm trying no dairy now but not sure how long it takes to get out of my system before I can try giving him my milk again. Any other things I should try excluding? Also should I just throw out all of the milk I froze? It seems like such a waste since limited supply is what lead to me supplement in the first place. Then again I don't want to give him something that makes his tummy hurt.
