why does emma watson have short hair
From that pixie crop to those red carpet up dos, we chart Emma Watson's standout hair styles. From that pixie crop to those red carpet up dos, Emma Watson is one A-lister who loves to experiment when it comes to her hair. Her beauty look has transformed dramatically throughout her career (letÂs not forget that she was only 10 years-old when she first hit our screens as Hermione Granger) and weÂve literally watched her grow to become one of the UKÂs most loved actresses and one of the worldÂs most stylish stars. Emma has chopped and changed her hairstyle regularly over the years and she certainly isnÂt a star who is afraid of a complete makeover. When she first got her famous pixie cut back in 2010 (in a Âliberating rebel cut, Emma chopped off The Hermione as soon as she had wrapped the Harry Potter franchise) she set one of the biggest hair trends of the year, and led the way in showing everyone how versatile short hair can be. EmmaÂs red carpet up-dos, too, have always been exciting, and from glam hair accessories to clever twists and plaits, she always brings a little something different to the beauty conversation. She also works a side swept style like no other, and regularly moves her parting around to make the same hair cut look constantly different. EmmaÂs always been a brunette naturally, but she has experimented with soft honey highlights when she was younger and more recently has been spotted working an ombre bob. The one (and perhaps only) style EmmaÂs never tried is extra long locks  we wonder whether sheÂs waiting until everyone else is Âso over them before she pounces and brings them back on trend all over again?
First up in our hair style file, Emma worked this neat knot on the red carpet at the premiere of Colonia in February 2016.
Harry Potter starlet Emma Watson tells us the truth about why she cut her hair and how she still uses the Tube. Emma Watson said she needed a drastic change after finishing filming Harry Potter. (AP) Emma Watson still laughs at the media hoopla which revolved around her pixie cut this autumn. The snip wasnÁt a fashion statement, more a reflection on the fact that, until now, the Harry Potter producers wouldnÁt allow her to cut her long locks while playing the schoolgirl role which catapulted her to global fame. ÁI didnÁt get to experiment with dyeing and chopping off my hair like most teenagers,Á she muses. ÁI also felt, right, IÁm 20, IÁm not a little girl any more. IÁd been on Harry Potter for ten years so I needed to mark the end of it in some way. I needed a drastic change and thatÁs what the crop was all about. Á Despite the Ádo, Watson still looks like a schoolgirl, albeit a rather chic one. After all, she is this monthÁs VogueÁs cover girl, a role usually occupied by the likes of Kate Moss and Lara Stone. Without a scrap of make-up, the chocolate-box prettiness is there, boosted by soulful brown eyes and creamy skin. Usually photographed about town in Chanel or British designer William Tempest, today the petite actress opts for casual attire: a charcoal woolly jumper, skin-tight pleather leggings that show off long legs and a pair of cream Prada ballet slip-ons.
When she isnÁt studying history at Brown University in the US, she lives in Oxfordshire with lawyer mother Jacqueline and younger brother Alex (her father, Chris, also a lawyer, is divorced from her mother). ÁI like being with my family, besides it being rubbish having to do your own washing up and your own laundry,Á she grins. Now away from the spotlight (part two of Deathly Hallows wonÁt hit cinemas until July) she revels in being Áa regular studentÁ by rooming with five other girls Á although one of them is Scout Willis, daughter of A-listers Bruce Willis and Demi Moore Á and playing hockey. ÁI love living in America,Á she says. ÁIt has become a second home to me. I could easily see myself splitting my time between New York and London. Á With a rumoured price tag of áå2million apiece for the last two Harry Potter films and an estimated worth of about áå20. 6million, Watson was recently named BritainÁs third richest star under the age of 30. The actress admits sheÁs overwhelmed by her financial success. ÁI have way too much money to know what to do with,Á she exclaims. ÁI bought a laptop and a Toyota Prius when I passed my driving test but thatÁs the most expensive things IÁve spent my money on outside of my education. Why would someone my age need this much money? Á Watson has a passion and a natural flair for fashion, making headlines on front rows around the world.
She admits she feels pressure to look stylish but doesnÁt have a stylist. ÁI just dress for me,Á she says. ÁFashion is something I genuinely enjoy. ItÁs a way of expressing yourself. ItÁs a lot of fun and I hope itÁs not going to get to a stage where I feel: ÁArgh, clothes Á how stressful! Á ItÁs become a way of life and IÁm meeting amazing new creative designers all the time. Á As the face of Burberry, Emma has turned her fashion savvy into a second career by joining forces on a clothing line with designer Alberta Ferretti and with fair-trade clothing company People Tree. ÁIÁm very hands-on,Á she says. ÁIÁve picked out the fabrics and last year I visited garment factories in Bangladesh. Everything is handmade. Á A new collection is due next summer. Who are her favourite designers? ÁIt depends what itÁs for,Á she says. ÁFor a premiere, IÁll wear some forward-thinking, trend-setting designers like Balenciaga or the latest from Chanel. IÁm really into William Tempest. If IÁm going casual, IÁll mix vintage with clothes from TopShop, Zara or Gap. Agnes B is also a favourite. IÁll mix and match, which makes it financially accessible to everyone. Á Watson doesnÁt walk around with bodyguards and still takes the Tube. ÁThe funny thing is people look at me and go: ÁIs that the girl from Harry Potter? Á And then they shake their heads and say: ÁNo, it canÁt be, sheÁs on public transport. Á And IÁm sat there secretly thinking: ÁHa, ha, thatÁs funny! ÁÁ
