why do the bulls wear pink jerseys

After watching the amazing success of Utah rookie guard Donovan Mitchell this past season, NBA talent evaluators have been searching for the next underrated player who might become an instant star on the pro level. More and more teams are going with small ball line-ups featuring multiple ball-handlers and 3-point shooting threats. So, if a prospect offers elite athleticism and can knock down shots from long range, heвs going to get a close look. Enter Anfernee Simons, a 6-foot-3, 180-pound combo guard who played this past season at IMG Academy in Florida. At the age of 19, Simons is eligible for this yearвs draft, and pro scouts have a pretty good feel for his game after watching him play for USA basketball last summer. Heвs considered more of a shooting guard with excellent range and the ability to score coming off screens as well as in catch-and-shoot situations. Simons was used more at point guard this past season, but doesnвt appear to be a natural fit as a primary distributor with low assist totals throughout his prep career.

Like most teenagers entering the NBA, Simons will have to get in the weight room to put on some muscle, but his ability to create his own shot should be enough for some team to take a leap of faith late in the first round. Simons could wind up being this yearвs version of Terrance Ferguson, who saw limited action in 61 games with Oklahoma City after being drafted No. 21 overall. Ferguson just turned 19 before the 2017 draft after playing one year professionally in Australia following high school. He showed enough as a rookie to earn 12 starts after Andre Roberson suffered a season-ending injury, and the Thunder coaches are excited about his long-term potential. Where does Simons fit for the Bulls? Well, he could be the perfect low risk, high reward pick with that No. 22 overall selection the Bulls acquired from New Orleans in the Niko Mirotic trade.

Whichever team drafts Simons will almost undoubtedly send him to the G-League for most of his rookie season and hope he develops into a consistent scorer. The Bulls are already pretty well set at the guard position with Zach LaVine, Kris Dunn, Denzel Valentine, Cameron Payne, Jerian Grant and Antonio Blakeney, but drafting late in the first round, the emphasis will be on selecting the best upside athlete available, and Simons certainly qualifies in that category. After the incredible seasons turned in by Mitchell (No. 13 overall selection) and Lakersв forward Kyle Kuzma (No. 27 overall selection), NBA front offices have been working overtime to make sure they donвt pass on the next diamond in the rough. That figures to be great news for Simons, whoвs likely to be over-drafted even though heвs far from being physically ready to compete with the worldвs best athletes.
The Bulls, a symbol of the rugged Afrikaaner, will be wearing pink jerseys for away games in this year's Super Rugby championship.

The team unveiled the radical new kit yesterday and it seems they have done a Stade Francais, the glamour French club noted for their outrageous jerseys that regularly feature pink. The Bulls new kit also features purple slashes, apparently inspired by the Jacaranda trees that are synonymous with Pretoria, the team's home base. But the nauseating marketing spin gets worse. Manufacturers Puma say the jersey's dramatic smash design is inspired by the phrase bull in a china shop and expresses the Bulls' powerful playing style. The complexity of the design, which combines a chevron-like effect, is designed to distract opposition players.
