why do so many americans hate obama
Two days after he was re-elected, ÁWhy do people hate you? Á a fourth-grade boy asked Obama at a town hall meeting in New Orleans. ÁTheyÁre supposed to love you. And God is love. Á
Startled, ÁThatÁs what IÁm talking about,Á responded the President. He glanced at the crowd, then smiled. Signing Obamacare into law ÁFirst of all," he told the boy, "I did get elected president, so not everybody hates me. What is true is if you were watching TV lately, it seems like everybodyÁs just getting mad all the time. And. you know, I think that youÁve got to take it with a grain of salt. Some of it is just whatÁs called politics where, you know, once one party wins, then the other party kind of gets Á feels like it needs to poke you a little bit to keep you on your toes. Á The boy nodded attentively, reports Matthew Jaffe of ABC News. ÁAnd so you shouldnÁt take it too seriously,Á Obama told the boy. ÁAnd then, sometimes, as I said before, people just Á I think theyÁre worried about their own lives. A lot of people are losing their jobs right now. A lot of people are losing their health care or theyÁve lost their homes to foreclosure, and theyÁre feeling frustrated. And when youÁre president of the United States, you know, youÁve got to deal with all of that. Á But is this something new? Did the Democrats hate Eisenhower back in the 1950s? Did the Republicans detest JFK and LBJ in the 1960s? When did all this start? With Nixon Á when his enemies forced him out of office? With Clinton when his detractors humiliated him with revelations about a blue dress and cigars?
Geroge W. Bush certainly reaped his share of derision Á David Letterman made no pretense of his intense dislike of the conservative Republican. So, is this something new, or has it been building over the last half century Á hatred for those who disagree? ÁLet me finish tonight with something thatÁs been bothering me,Á mused recently. ÁWhy do people hate this president so much? Matthews then cited a number of criticism that have aired, concluding, ÁWhatever comes along, like the CBO report yesterday, becomes another way to find a way to explain hating the guy. Á Of course, that CBO report was the one that said 2. 5 million Americans would lose their jobs because of Obamacare. What were the phony GOP ÁreasonsÁ for hating Obama, according to Matthews? ÁRepublicans had their chance to modify the health care plan,Á said Matthews. ÁIt was they who decided to sit back and let the Democrats do it all alone. ÁAnd all this other stuff, the obscure IRS story thatÁs not gotten tied to any of the Obama political people. ÁThe Benghazi brouhaha that was discredited by the bipartisan Senate Intelligence Committee that basically squared the Obama claims with the evidence showing it really was a spontaneous attack probably triggered by a Cairo attack and that dumb anti-Islamic movie out of Los Angeles. Á ÁWell,Á muses Áin regards to the IRS, e-mails tying the former IRS chief to crafting new rules for investigating Tea Party groups. Á And reports keep surfacing that Obama is using IRS as a hit-squad, selectively pursuing conservative groups while ignoring abuses by liberal organizations.
Barack Obama ÁAnd,Á continues Hadro, Áthe Senate Intelligence Committee that the Benghazi attacks were indeed Ádeliberate and organized. Á This is not the first time Matthews has tried to stick up for the White House in an untenable situation. Á Give Obama a break, laments Matthew Lynch at the liberal : ÁIt seems we have forgotten that when Barack Obama assumed the presidency, he was charged with resolving the nastiest set of problems and issues of any incoming commander-in-chief since Franklin D. Roosevelt took office on March 4, 1933. What did he do in response? He immediately jumped into action and orchestrated an unprecedented stimulus package, the auto bailouts, and a major health care bill. Under President ObamaÁs watch, America is experiencing something that it hasnÁt experienced in ages Á genuine progress. Although we have many more miles to go, we have to remember that Rome was not built in a day. The issues that continually plague our country took decades to develop and will probably take several more decades to fix. Á His economic policy is a nice cup of acid to the face from a free market capitalist s perspective. People lack the understanding of what is meant when someone mentions Free Market. They think it s excess, little hungry children with dirty faces from the 20 s, or even outright slavery. Does this sound like you? The Free Market is just a term that describes a natural arrangement that occurs between people.
It s practically a force of nature. You can ignore it or even outlaw it but it will always be there and the further you get away from utilizing it s principals in order to make things more fair the less fair things will become. An economy that is based on these principals such as ours still needs to be regulated because it s not a free market at all, it s just using the natural mechanism that already exists. You could think of it like a surfer riding a wave. The surfer is not the wave. Obama apparently does not see the wave at all although he can t deny that it exists. He is telling people to stay out of the water because it s safer. Waves are dangerous, we can surf in this tidal pool he dug over here and it will be much safer. I know there is a Charlie don t surf joke here but I m staying away from it. Anyway. people want to be free, they don t want to surf in a tidal pool! There aren t waves in the tidal pool. Sure, yeah, yeah, yeah, sharks or you could drown. etc, etc, but people want to go surfing not wade around in a tidal pool. Republican party types have their share of distorted reality issues as well but they can at least see the waves. They seem to think they can control and manipulate the waves and dictate who can go into the water as well as set the rules on the beach. The problem is that there is a lot of beach out there and if they aren t careful people will pick up their coolers and surfboards and leave for better surfing elsewhere. I know, kind of a goofy analogy but it sort of works.
